Erica and Evan’s Prescott courthouse elopement portraits brought together so many of my favorite things: beautiful architecture, a short lace wedding dress, a long veil, and plenty of room for the two of them to enjoy being together. The Yavapai County Courthouse and surrounding Courthouse Plaza gave us a mix of classic wedding portraits and relaxed, playful photographs in downtown Prescott, Arizona.
If you’re dreaming of a courthouse wedding with photos that feel romantic and full of personality, this gallery is a lovely place to start. From the stone steps to the trees around the square, there’s so much variety within this one setting.

Erica’s short, long-sleeved lace dress looked beautiful against the courthouse stonework. Her flowing veil added movement as they walked, while her white bouquet kept everything soft and classic. Evan’s dark suit and open-collar white shirt complemented the look perfectly.
I loved photographing the little details alongside their portraits: lace sleeves, flowers, wedding rings, and the way they reached for each other. Those photographs help tell the story of how the day looked and felt, right down to the smallest touches.

The courthouse columns and wide stone staircases make such a beautiful backdrop for wedding photography. We mixed wider photographs that show the architecture with closer portraits that bring the focus back to Erica and Evan.
Some of my favorites are the walking photographs, the kisses on the steps, and the moments when they smiled at each other between poses. A blend of color and black and white gives this gallery a lovely rhythm. The color photographs show the warm stone and greenery, while the black and white portraits draw your eye to their expressions and the light.

The trees and lawn around Prescott’s Courthouse Plaza bring a softer look to the gallery. Moving between the courthouse steps and the surrounding grounds gave us different backgrounds without losing the connection to downtown Prescott.
This setting also offers inspiration for an engagement session, anniversary photographs, or a couples portrait session. You can dress up, bring a look that feels like you, and let the architecture and greenery frame your connection.

Erica’s veil gave us another beautiful way to create intimate portraits. The close photographs beneath it are some of my favorites from their gallery. Paired with the walking photographs and sunlit stone-wall portraits, they show how much range a courthouse elopement portrait session can have.

When we plan your photographs, we’ll talk through your ceremony schedule, the portraits you love, and how much time you want to spend together around the courthouse. I recommend leaving room for a mix of relaxed walking photographs, classic portraits, and a few details rather than rushing from one pose to the next.
Courthouse Plaza hosts community events. Check the official Courthouse Plaza event calendar as you choose your date, and we can consider the light, weather, and activity around the square when planning your session.
Court ceremony arrangements and photography are booked separately. Contact the court through Yavapai County’s official wedding information to confirm current availability, requirements, and the ceremony location. Then we can plan your portrait time around the details you’ve confirmed.
Yes! If you love this setting for engagement, anniversary, or couples photographs, share what you have in mind when you inquire. We can talk through your vision for a session around the courthouse and downtown Prescott.
I’d love to photograph your courthouse elopement or couples session in Prescott. Explore my Arizona wedding photography, then fill out my contact form with your date, location, and a little about the photographs you’re dreaming of. Let’s make something beautiful together.
