Mikalann and Alexander’s Sedona Golf Resort wedding brought together a classic black-and-white palette, incredible red-rock views, and the people they love most. I photographed their September 6, 2026 celebration from the moments before the ceremony through their sparkler exit, with a trip to Courthouse Vista for couples portraits along the way. Before the wedding, they told me they were most excited about the pictures and having their family together in one place. Their gallery holds both: sweeping Sedona scenery and so many expressions worth remembering.
Their Sedona Golf Resort wedding details felt clean and timeless. White roses and baby’s breath softened the black welcome sign, while black napkins stood out against white table linens. The bridesmaids’ black dresses and the groomsmen’s black suits carried that same palette into the portraits. With Sedona’s warm red rocks and greenery surrounding them, the simple colors photographed beautifully.

We began at the resort before guests gathered for the ceremony. One of my favorite moments was Mikalann wiping away a tear while her mom adjusted her veil. There was time for bridal portraits, photographs with the bridesmaids, and Alexander with his groomsmen. These quieter parts of the day help tell the story just as much as the celebration that follows.

Their ceremony took place on the lawn, with white chairs, petals along the aisle, and a red-rock backdrop beyond their guests. Mikalann walked down the aisle with her parents, and Alexander’s reaction was such a meaningful part of the story. Rev. Rob Hundley led the ceremony as they exchanged rings surrounded by family and friends. On the way back down the aisle, Alexander dipped Mikalann for a kiss while everyone cheered—a perfect just-married moment.

After the ceremony, we headed to Courthouse Vista for their Sedona wedding portraits. This stop gave us views of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, open red-rock scenery, and room for both wide photographs and closer moments together. Mikalann’s dress added beautiful movement as they walked and twirled, and some of my favorite frames are the ones where they’re simply laughing with each other.
For couples planning a Sedona Golf Resort wedding, off-site portraits are something we can talk through while building your photography timeline. Mikalann and Alexander made room for the drive and portraits after the ceremony, then returned to the resort for family photographs and the reception.

Having their family together was one of Mikalann and Alexander’s biggest priorities. Back at Sedona Golf Resort, we photographed family groups and their wedding party with the red rocks behind them. I love having a mix of the portraits everyone will want to frame and the celebratory moments in between. Their cheering wedding party brought plenty of energy to these photographs.

Inside, their black-and-white dance floor carried the palette into the reception. Their evening included a first dance, toasts, cake cutting, and parent dances before everyone joined the party. A white floral cake and dessert bar completed the details, but the people made these photographs: smiles across the sweetheart table, Mikalann dancing with her dad, and friends singing together on the dance floor.

Mikalann and Alexander even stepped behind the DJ booth together! We finished the night with a sparkler exit, and the black-and-white photograph of their kiss is such a lovely final frame for their wedding story. Thank you both for letting me photograph it all.
