This past week I spent 40+ hours in a car and drove allll the way from Flagstaff, AZ to Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada all within 10 days. You could say by the end I was definitely sick of driving! I had run out of podcasts, my legs were stiff, and I was exhausted. But it was so worth it! I love roadtrips. I really do. This one was filled with mixed emotions. It wasn’t suppose to be a solo trip but if I’ve learned anything in the last month it’s that sometimes you have to give up control and just let life be. Often the greatest changes happen when life pushes back at us. We cannot always choose our external circumstances but we can always choose how we respond to them. This for me was not letting my circumstances steal the joy I get from traveling to new places, experiencing new things and meeting new people. I’ve learned to believe that whatever happens in your life is exactly what is suppose to happen to make you the person you need to become. Solo trips give me the much needed time and space away from routine to learn and discover things about myself. I push myself. I learn I’m capable of more than I could have imagined.
